Mara Hoffman S/S 2012 Collection

As promised, here are the photos from the actual show.
Raveena Parmar, from The Fashion List, reviewed the show by saying:
"Walking into Mara Hoffman was like entering a kaleidoscope, where mariachi bands, neon prints and tribal influences collided outrageously. No really--there was a mariachi band feting guests upon their arrival. The tune said welcome to Mara's funhouse."
I whole heartedly agree!
Enough said right??

Backstage At Mara Hoffman S/S 2012

The S/S 2012 collections are finally here!
Friday afternoon I had the privilege of going backstage to take photos at the Mara Hoffman show at Lincoln Center.

Although I've been a fan of her work for awhile, recently my love for her has skyrocketed to one of my favorite designers EVER/ALIVE.  Her prints, her colors, her aesthetic, and her silhouettes all remind me of my personal aesthetic (or what I hope to someday achieve).
I can't get enough of how her clothes celebrate culture, nature, and life in general. Ahh she's genius.
The one and only Mara.
Kick-ass rope necklaces/bracelets made by Holst and Lee for Mara's looks.
Making braids intertwined with silk-screened fabrics.
Ashley Tisdale. hehe.
Shooting the lookbook.
A live mariachi band setting the mood.
THE BEST PRINT I'VE EVER SEEN. I seriously want this on chairs/a couch/my entire wardrobe.
The birds and deer kind of remind me of a better version of the whales I drew this summer...but maybe thats stretching it....
Photos of the actual show coming soon!
