Birch Gets Into Mischief

Remember Birch?
Well, today I was going through my hard drive, and I re discovered these precious pictures from last year when Birch was only 7ish months old.
I remember walking downstairs to my basement, and seeing Birch with a giant smirk on his face.
He had dragged all the toliet paper out of the bathroom and was running around with it in his mouth!
(Side note: Can you find Waldo Yodie, my beagle? aha)
These images make my heart swell so hard.

You Are Exactly Where You Are Meant To Be.

May today there be peace within.
May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others.

May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.May you be content with yourself just the way you are.Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.It is there for each and every one of us.

-Mother Teresa

I love quotes, but whenever I read them I feel a sense of intense cheesiness come over me. For some reason quotes often feel fake. I think whenever I see " " I subconsciously think the message  isn't relatable or that its preserved in a glass bottle and can't be examined. I want the above quote to be examined and feel relatable because I think its beautiful and true.

This post is a little on the spiritual side, but thats just how i've been feeling lately, and this blog is an abstract conglomeration of pretty much anything and everything...so there ya go!

Mountain Spring Collage

A little mixed media collage 'cause I miss the mountains.

Salvation Shoes

I don't really know what to say in this post. I want the pictures to speak for themselves.
I'll just say....I went to salvation army on Wednesday and there were over 6 racks of the same ugly shoe in the same size. It was way too humorous not to take some pictures of.

Susan Cianciolo

Tonight I'm posting all about Susan Cianciolo. I have the privilege of having Susan as my sketching teacher at Pratt; however she is also a talented designer. A couple of weeks ago I got to help out at her show, and snapped some photos of her whimsical looks in the process.
Dress detail.
Setting sun outside :)
Kids, like this boy, walked (or ran) in the show adding to the playful vibe of the clothes.
The perfection of imperfection :)
I love this monochromatic look!
More details.
The curtain between the show and backstage.
Thanks for letting me help out Susan it was so much fun!

2 months ago I left and lost my sketchbook in the subway, which left me feeling devastated, empty, and uninspired. It took awhile to get off my butt and purchase a new one....but now I have!
I decided it would be fun to post my sketchbook jottings and collages every week because A. the chance of me losing my sketchbook again is very high and B. its an excuse to post more (yay)

A little inspiration collage I titled "the horizon has been defeated"
Day dreaming in class and wishing I owned a bike.........
Quick 2 min poses in sketching class.
